Invisalign is one of the leading providers of orthodontic clear aligners. These devices serve the same purpose as traditional braces, with the notable difference of being clear and fully removable. Since their approval by the FDA in 1998, Invisalign has become one of the most popular methods of straightening crooked teeth, thanks to their comfort and subtlety.
The first step will be a consultation with your dentist to talk about your treatment options and smile goals. During your initial visit, your dentist will take X-rays and make an impression of your teeth which will be used to create a treatment map for your aligners. Then, those impressions are sent to a lab where the aligner trays are made before being sent back to your dentist to begin treatment.
The length of your treatment will depend on your unique needs; however, in all cases, you will be required to wear the aligners for 22 hours per day. You will also receive a new set of aligners every couple of weeks that will slowly shift your teeth to the desired position.
City Dental of Wellington is excited to help you achieve your desired smile without any of the discomforts of traditional braces. Call our office today to learn more about Invisalign!
